Eligibility criteria for TS PECET – 2024
Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for PECET-2024.
1. Candidates should be of Indian Nationality.
2. Candidates should belong to the both states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should satisfy local / non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
Eligibility for B.P.Ed.(Two year):
Candidates should have appeared or passed three year degree examination recognized by any University in Telangana State or any other University recognized as equivalent there to and should have completed 19 years of age on 01.07.2024
Eligibility for U.G.D.P.Ed.(2 Years):
Candidates should have appeared or passed Intermediate or equivalent course recognized by the Government of Telangana State and should have completed 16 years of age on 01.07.2024..
The in-service Physical Education Teachers (P.E.Ts) seeking admission into B.P.Ed (One Year) Course or U.G.D.P.Ed. (2 Years) Course need not appear for any Entrance Test conducted by PECET Convener. They have to apply directly to the Director of School Education, Hyderabad through their respective D.E.O.s through proper channel. The Director of School Education will nominate a limited number of candidates to the respective colleges.
TS PECET 2024 Exam Pattern :
THE SCHEME OF EXAMINATION FOR THE COMMON ENTRANCE TEST-2024
Scheme of Entrance test for B.P.Ed.(Two years) and D.P.Ed. (2 Years), Courses:
These tests will be conducted as follows:
(A) PhysicalEfficiencyTests: Maximum 400 marks:
For each of the events, marks shall be awarded, by using the conversion tables approved by the T.S.PECETCommittee.
FOR MEN CANDIDATES
a) Compulsory Events (No Option)
- i. 100 meters run 100 Marks
- ii. Putting the shot (6Kgs.) 100 Marks
- iii. 800 meters run 100 Marks
The Candidate has to choose either High Jump or Long Jump. Candidate has to mention option in the application. Changing of option at the time of test is not permitted.
iv. Long Jump/ High Jump 100 Marks
FOR WOMEN CANDIDATES
a) Compulsory Events (No Option)
- i. 100 meters run 100 Marks
- ii. Putting the shot (4Kgs.) 100 Marks
- iii. 800 meters run 100 Marks
The Candidate has to choose either High Jump or Long Jump. Candidate has to mention option in the application. Changing of option at the time of test is not permitted.
iv. Long Jump/ High Jump 100 Marks
(B) Skill Test in Game: Maximum 100 Marks
The skills of the candidate shall be tested in any one of the following games opted by the candidate:
- 1. Ball Badminton
- 2. Basketball
- 3. Cricket
- 4. Football
- 5. Handball
- 6. Hockeyy
- 7. Kabaddi
- 8. Kho-Kho
- 9. Shuttle Badminton
- 10. Tennis
- 11. Volleyball
Note: If any Candidate fail to choose any one of these games in the application, the candidate will not be allowed to attend the examination in the skil test and he/she looses the chance to appear for 100 marks skill test. If any candidate choose more than one game, then also, the candidate will not be allowed for the skill test. So, the candidate should fill the application properly by choosing only one game. Changing of option at the time of test is not permitted.
Caution: Candidates with heart ailments or any such serious ailments and differently abled persons should not appear for these tests.
Pregnant Women are also advised not to appear for these tough physical efficiency tests. Participation in these tough Physlcal efficiency tests may cause injury to the ailing individual and in case of pregnant women to the fetus or to the child in the womb.
