AP NMMS  National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Exam Date 2023:

 Under the NMMS scheme, the students studying VIII Class during the year 2023-24 and VII Class Pass out for the year 2022-23 are eligible to write the Examination. The selected student shall receive a sum of Rs. 12,000/- per annum.    NMMS 2023 examination will be held on 03-12-2023(Sunday) 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM. Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (N.M.M.S.S)  Details:

1. The Ministry for Human Resource Development, Government of India has launched centrally sponsored National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (N.M.M.S.S). Under this scheme an examination will be conducted and selected candidates will get the scholarship.
2. Every year 1, 00,000 students will be selected throughout India. Out of which 4087 scholarships are being allotted to Residuary Telangana and have been distributed among the districts basing on enrollment in VII and VIII Classes for each academic year.
3. The Director of Government Examinations, Telangana, Hyderabad is conducting NMMS examination from August 2008.
4. This examination is conducted every year in the month of November for the students in class VIII studying inGovernment/ Local Body/Municipal/Aided Schools are eligible for this examination.
5. The candidates who got minimum 55% of marks for OC/BC candidates and 50% for SC/ST in VII Standard.
6. The beneficiaries are being selected basing on the merit and as per the reservation norms followed by the state.
7. State Norms including 3% reservation for P.H candidates. (S.C 15%; S.T 6%; B.C-A 7%; B.C-B 10%; B.C-C 1%; B.C-D 7% ; BC-E 4%).

Pattern of Examination is as follows:
Mental Ability Test (M.A.T) – 90 marks multiple choice questions.
Scholastic Ability Test (S.A.T) – 90 marks covering social science, science and mathematics of class VII & VIII. Each question carry one mark
Qualifying percentage is as follows:
Gen 40% B.C 35% S.C/S.T/P.H 25%

Eligibility:
A Candidate who  Scored atleast 55% of marks in class VII examination of the year 2018-19 and has been promoted to class VIII for academic year 2023-20. In respect of SC/ST candidate s they have secured at least 50% or its equalant grade
Is studying in Govt/ZP/Muncipal/Private Aided High School Model Schools which have no residential fecility is only eligible to write the exmination NMMS 2023
Whose parental annual income is below Rs. 1,50,000 per year from all source is eligible to appear for the examination. In case of Govt employee salary certificate will be enough as a proof of income issue by the employer
