The test will be conducted in twenty languages in 135 cities all over the country. The detailed Information Bulletin containing details of examination, syllabus, languages, eligibility criteria, examination fee, examination cities and important dates will be available on CTET official website www.ctet.nic.in . The aspiring candidates have to apply online only through CTET website https://ctet.nic.in The online application process will start from 03-11-2023. The last date forsubmitting online application is 23-11-2023 and fee can be paid upto 23-11-2023 till 11:59 pm.

    CBSE CTET 2024 Notification, Exam Date, Online Applications:

    In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 and 29th JULY, 2011 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII.  It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in Clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.

    Central Teacher Eligibility Test  (CTET)- January 2024 Notification:

    The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi.  The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct 16th edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in CBT (Computer Based Test – Online) mode on 21-01-2024 (Sunday).  The exact date of examination will be mentioned on the admit cards of the candidates. The detailed Information Bulletin containing details of examination, syllabus, languages, eligibility criteria, examination fee, examination cities and important dates will be available on CTET official website https://ctet.nic.in soon and the aspiring candidates are requested to download the Information Bulletin from the above mentioned website only and read the same carefully before applying. The aspiring candidates have to apply online only through CTET website i.e. https://ctet.nic.in. 
     
    Validity period of CTET certificate
    The Validity Period of TET qualifying certificate is life time.

    Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Eligibility Criteria

    The following persons are eligible for appearing in the CTET.

      Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Stage
    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
    OR
    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
    OR
    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
    OR
    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
    OR
    “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)”

    “(a) who has acquired the qualification or Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two year of such appointment as primary teacher”.

    Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: Elementary Stage
    Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
    OR
    Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
    OR
    Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
    OR
    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
    OR
    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
    OR
    Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.
    OR
    Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.

    CTET) 2024 Applicability:
    (i) The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools,etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT’s of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCTof Delhi.

    (ii) CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.

    (iii) Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it JANides not to conduct the State TET.

    (iv) According to CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, prescribing the minimum qualifications for teachers to teach various subjects in Classes I to VIII in the schools Affiliated to CBSE stands amended to th that extent and it shall be mandatory that the teachers appointed hereinafter i.e. 6 March 2012 to teach classes I to VIII in the Schools affiliated to the CBSE shall qualify/pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test or Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), conducted by the appropriate Central/ State Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for this purpose.

    Central TET Examination Pattern:
    The CTET examination will be of objective type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ’s). There will be no negative marking. There will be 2 papers of CTET.
    (i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
    (ii) Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
    A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

    Paper I (for Classes I to V) Primary Stage ;
    Duration of examination-Two-and-a-half hours
    Structure and Content (All Compulsory): (Appendix I)
    (i) Child Development and Pedagogy 30 MCQs 30 Marks
    (ii) Language I (compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
    (iii) Language II (compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
    (iv) Mathematics 30 MCQs 30 Marks
    (v) Environmental Studies 30 MCQs 30 Marks

    Paper II (for Classes VI to VIII) Elementary Stage :
    Duration of examination – Two-and-a-half hours

    How to Apply for CBSE CTET (Central Teachers Eligibility Test):
    1. Candidates can apply for CTET – 2024 ‘ON-LINE’ through CTET website www.ctet.nic.in  

    The candidate applying for CTET is required:-
    i) To go through the Information Bulletin carefully with the entire requirement therein.
    ii) To satisfy eligibility to appear in the examination.
    iii) To submit On-line application by giving full particulars by accessing the CTET official website www.ctet.nic.in.
    iv) To write complete mailing address with Postal Pin Code at the time of applying.
    v) Before submission of application form, JANide the mode of payment of fee.
    vi) To keep the Confirmation Page along with the original copy of E-Challan (In case fee is paid through E-Challan) of Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank for future reference.
    vii) If a candidate submits on-line more than one application, his/her candidature shall be liable to be cancelled and the candidate may also be debarred for future examination(s). No communication will be sent in this regard.

    STEP 2: Go to the link “Apply Online” and open the same.
    STEP 3: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down Registration No./Application No.
