DRDO has launched “DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls” through Aeronautics Research and Development Board (AR&DB), Defence Research and Development Oorganisation Headquarters. The scholarship is open to engineering students and online applications for the same will start on 15th August 2020.
DRDO scholarship for girls 2020 Details:
DRDO has launched “DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls through Aeronautics Research and Development Board (AR&DB), DRDO HQ. AR&DB has been mandated to nurture quality aeronautics human power in the country since inception in 1971. This scholarship scheme would attract such women power from various institutes through a transparent process with an objective to tap the talent of bright students across the country.
RAC invites online scholarship applications from the Girls / Women students studying in first year of Under Graduate (BE/B.TECH: full time four year degree) and Post Graduate (M.TECH/ME: two year full time degree course) under “DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls in Aerospace Engg / Aeronautical Engg / Space Engg / Rocketry / Avionics / Aircraft Engg” through RAC website https://rac.gov.in
Registrations will start from 15th Aug 2020 onwards

Who can Apply for the DRDO Scholarship 2020?
As per the official notification on the RAC website, girls or women studying in first year of under graduate (BE or BTECH full time four year degree) and post graduate (MTECH or ME two year full time degree) can apply for the “DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls in Aerospace Engineering / Aeronautical Engineering / Space Engineering / Rocketry / Avionics / Aircraft Engineering”.
There are20 scholarships available for undergraduates who are in the first year of the above mentioned disciplines in BE, BTech orBSc engineering. Selected candidates would be eligible for a scholarship of Rs 1,20,000 per year or annual fees, whichever is less for a maximum period of four years. The candidate must be an Indian national and should have a valid JEE (Main) score.
There are 10 scholarships available for post graduates in the above mentioned disciplines. Selected candidates would be eligible for a scholarship of Rs 15,500 per month subject to Rs 1,86,000 per year for a maximum period of two years. Indian nationals Candidate should have secured admission in the 1st year of the current academic year (2020-20) to the relevant ME, MTECH, MSc engineering course with a minimum 60% marks in the qualifying exam (graduation level: BE/B Tech/BSc engineering or equivalent) for getting admission to the subject course as per the guidelines set by AICTE or MHRD. Candidate should also have a valid GATE score.

B. DRDO scholarship for PG Girls:

DRDO Scholarships 2020 Eligibility & Requirements
Students pursuing dual degree course / integrated master degree in the above mentioned subjects may also apply / receive this scholarship only for first four years as applicable for B.Tech degree course under the above scheme, subject to fulfilling the eligibility requirements.
1. The applicants should ensure that they satisfy the eligibility criteria as on the closing date of advertisement. Candidates should be in possession of Essential Qualifications and should have JEE (Main) and GATE valid score” for B.Tech and M.Tech respectively. The prescribed Essential Qualifications are bare minimum and mere possession of same does not guarantee the scholarship.
2. The scheme is free from any bond obligation. However, the scholars of the scheme will have to do their major final year project work preferably at DRDO/ Govt. Labs or in AR&DB funded projects in any institutions during their course work.
Selection Process:
a) First year Under graduate (B.E./B.Tech./BSc. Engg.) scholarship (for 4-yr full time course) will be based on the merit of JEE (Main). Candidates without valid JEE (Main) score will not be considered.
b) First year Post graduate (M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc. Engg.) scholarship (for 2 yr full time course) will be based on the valid GATE score on merit basis. The candidates without valid GATE score will not be considered.
Scholarship in the following year(s):
During the period under scholarship, Post Graduate and Under Graduate scholars are required to pass all the tests and examinations which may be prescribed by the Institutions so as to maintain a cumulative grade point average of 7.00 or 70% marks. The scholarship amount of the particular year will however not be disbursed to those who are not able to pass test/examination and do not successfully complete the academic year.
The list of the qualifying students in the first and the following years, institute-wise, would be forwarded to AR&DB for further processing of the case for release of scholarship to the Grantee Institutions.
The list of students for discontinuity of the scholarship would be forwarded to AR&DB from the institutes for record.
Conditions of Scholarship:
a. Once scholarship is discontinued to a candidate it will not be granted further, inspite of qualifying the eligibility in the later years.
b. Students availing this scholarship will be entitled to avail only one scholarship at a time and an undertaking has to be furnished by the students and it should be countersigned by the institute that she is not availing any other scholarship from any other institute / department / agency.
➤ Candidates will have to produce all certificates, in original, for verification in the Institute and a certificate has to be forwarded to AR&DB in this regard by the institute where the student belongs.
➤ Applications without scanned copies of certificates for the requisite essential educational qualification or incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. No correspondence would be entertained in this regard.
➤ Selected candidates will be considered for scholarship and will get scholarship through their respective Institute. The Institute has to submit the contingent bill with ECS mandate for all the candidates so selected for scholarship for release of money for scholarship.
➤ The offer of scholarship to the selected candidates will be restricted to the number of scholarship in order of merit. List of candidates selected for scholarship will be made available at AR&DB website: https://www.drdo.gov.in/drdo/boards/ardb/index.htm
➤ Number of scholarships are limited to 20 for Under Graduate and 10 for Post Graduate students pursuing their respective degrees at the academic institutes.

General instructions:
• Date for determining the eligibility of all candidates in every respect shall be the prescribed Closing Date
for submission of online scholarship application.
• The applicants are advised to fill in all their particulars carefully in the online scholarship application as submission of wrong / incomplete information may lead to rejection through computer based shortlisting.
• The applicants are advised to carefully attach all the certificates / documentary evidence of age,
educational qualifications valid JEE (Main) / GATE score etc. in the online scholarship application as no correspondence will be made to the candidates for submission of Non legible / incomplete attachments.
• Those applications which are not finally submitted by the candidates in accordance with the instructions will
be automatically rejected by the computer system and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Therefore, candidates are advised to finally submit the application carefully and enclose all necessary documents as applicable.
