The attention of the all the District Educational Officers in the State are invited to the reference read above wherein the following guidelines have been issued for supervision and testing of the quality of the meals under MDM scheme.
Guidelines for Supervision,Testing of Quality of Meals in TS Schoolsa) As per MDM Guidelines 2006, the Mid day meal has to be tasted by 2-3 adults including at least one teacher before it is served to the children.
b) As per the Guidelines on food safety and hygiene issued on 13.02.2015, it is mandatory for tasting of food by a teacher just before serving is mandatory. A record for which is to be maintained. Further, the SMC member should also taste the food on rotation basis along with the teacher.
c) As per the MDM Rules- 2015 notified on 30th Sep.2015, the School Management Committee (SMC) shall also monitor the implementation of Mid Day Meal Scheme shall over see the quality of meals provided, cleanliness of a place, cooking and maintenance of hygiene in implementation of Mid Day Meal Scheme.
d) In addition to the mandatory tasting by one teacher, at least one parent and preferably two who may or may not be SMC members should be present during serving of the meals to students so that they can taste the food as well as certify the number of children who partake of MDM. For this purpose, a roster of such parents to be draw up in advance on a monthly basis and a Register to record their observations should also be maintained at the school.
Therefore all the DEOs are requested instruct the visiting/Inspecting Officers to verify the Registers to ensure the quality of Mid Day Meal and furnish monthly report the Director of School Education.
This has got the approval of the Director of School Education, Telangana State, Hyderabad.
The attention of all the Deputy Educational officer, Mandal Educational officers and Head Masters in the District is invited to the reference read above, and they are requested to follow the above mentioned instructions on implementation of MDM Programme. All the Deputy Educational officers, Mandal Educational officers and Head Masters of sec schools in the District comply the guidelines and to verity the same at the time of their visit to the schools and to submit the report to this office without fail.
