    Navodaya Entrance Exam 2025 Notification for admission into navodaya schools

    Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (An Autonomous Body Under Ministry of Education) Government Of India has been announced Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Entrance Notification 2025  for 6th Class admissions 2025-2026 . This notification was announced through press media by the NVS Regional Officials.

    NVS Officials will invite the applications from eligible candidates for admission into class VI for academic year 2025-26. State-wise Distribution of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas According to the Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme, one Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is to be set up in each District in a phased manner. At present, 649 Vidyalayas are functional in 27 States and 08 Union Territories.

    Objectives of the Navodaya Schools Scheme :

    Navodaya 6th class Entrance Exam Date 2025- JNV Selection Test -2025 Schedule

    JNV Selection Test for admission to Class-VI in JNVs for the academic session 2025-26 will be held as per following schedule.

    Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test – 2025 : JNV Selection Test for admission to Class-VI in JNVs for the academic session 2025-26 will be held in two phases as given below:

    a. On Saturday, 12th April, 2025 at 11.30 A.M. in the States of Jammu and Kashmir (except Jammu-I, Jammu-II & Samba), Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and in the Districts of Dibang Valley and Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh, in the Districts of Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla of Himachal Pradesh, in the District of Darjeeling of West Bengal, and Leh & Kargil districts of UT Ladakh.

    b. On Saturday, 18th January, 2025 at 11.30 A.M. in the State of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh (except Dibang Valley & Tawang Districts), Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh(except Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla Districts), Jammu & Kashmir (only for Jammu-I, Jammu-II & Samba) Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand & West Bengal (except Darjeeling), Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Pudducherry.

    Eligibilty Criteria/ Who is Eligible:

    • Candidates who are bonafide residents of the district and studying in class V in the academic session 2022-23 in Govt./ Govt. recognized school in the same district where JNV is functioning and to which they are seeking admission.
    • A candidate must successfully complete Class-V in the session 2023-24.
    • Actual admission in Class-VI for the session 2025-26 will be subject to the mentioned condition.
    • Candidate has to reside in the district where he/she is seeking admission in the JNV located in the same District.
    • Candidate has to study class V in any of the Govt. or Govt. recognized schools located in the same District during 2023-24.
    • Studied full academic session in each class and passed classes III & IV from Govt. / Govt. recognized school.  

    Age Limit:

    • A candidate seeking admission must not have been born before 01-05-2013 and after 31-07-2015 (Both dates are inclusive).
    • This will apply to candidates of all categories, including those who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC).

    RESERVATION:

    • At least 75% Seats in a district will be filled by candidates from rural areas.
    • Reservation for SC, ST, OBC and Divyang candidates as per Govt. Norms.
    • Minimum 1/3 of the seats are reserved for girl students.

    How to apply Online for JNV class 6th Selection Test 2025

    • The following documents in soft form (.JPG format of size between 10 to 100 kb) may be kept ready for registration:
    •  Certificate verified by the Head Master mentioning the details of candidate in the prescribed format
    •  Photograph
    • Signature of parent
    • Signature of candidate
    • Aadhaar details/ Residence certificate issued by competent Government authority

    Procedure to register online for JNV Selection Test 2025

    The process for submission of application for JNV Selection Test has been simplified through online process. Registration can be done free of cost through the admission portal of NVS linked through https://navodaya.gov.in

    • First visit the Navodaya official website- navodaya.gov.in or cbseitms.rcil.gov.in/nvs/
    • Click on the Class VI Registration link available on the homepage.
    • ONLINE APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO CLASS VI (2025-26) will be opened
    • Now Fill following data.
    • The candidate has already passed/studied class V prior to session 2023-24?
    • The candidate has appeared in JNVST earlier?
    • Have you read the Prospectus (Yes/No).
    • Whether your District of Residence and class V study is same (Yes/No).
    • Is the study certificate signed by the Head Master of the school?.
    • Whether the candidate has been promoted from class IV and admitted to class V before 31st July 2023 (Yes/No).*
    • Do you have Aadhaar Number (Yes/No).*
    • After that, fill in the second section of communication details and then the academic details in the next section of ‘previous school details’.
    • Next, upload the required documents.
    • Check all details in the admission form and edit the form if it is required.
    • Then submit the NVS Class 6 admission 2025 form.
    • At last, note down the application number and download the confirmation page.
