Osmania University Hyderabad offers Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs in faculties of Arts, Commerce, Management, Education, Law, Social Sciences, Oriental Languages, Science, Technology, Pharmacy, Engineering, Informatics. Selection of candidates will be done through Ph.D. entrance test conducted by the university. Candidates with national level fellowship or test will be exempted from appearing for Osmania university Ph.D. admission. OU PHD Admissions Notification 2022-2023 www.osmania.ac.in Osmania University PhD Admissions Applications 

Applications are invited for Ph.D. Entrance Test – 2022 under Category-II in various subjects of different faculties of Osmania University. The candidates who have passed the Master’s degree in the concerned subject with a minimum of 55% marks (50% in the case of SC/ST/BC/PWD candidates) or equivalent are eligible to apply. For online application, list of subjects, syllabi, registration fee, and other Rules & Regulations, candidates are advised to visit the websites: www.osmania.ac.in and www.ouadmissions.com. Applications are invited from the following eligible candidates for registration to Ph.D. programme in the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Commerce, Law, Management, Education,  Engineering,  Technology,  Pharmacy,  Informatics  and  Oriental  Languages  of Osmania University. 

Eligibility Conditions: Educational qualification:

• To be eligible to appear for Ph.D. Entrance Test – 2022 being conducted by Osmania University in the subjects pertaining to faculties mentioned above, a candidate must have obtained a PostGraduate degree from a recognized university or a Post-Graduate degree through distance mode from a recognized university and approved by the concerned authority, in the concerned subject or in an allied subject (see Annexure-II for the list of allied subjects) approved by Osmania University securing not less than 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/BC/PWD candidates).
• If the results of Post Graduate Degree are declared in the form of Grades/Credits/Cumulative Grade Points/Average in their marks card/Transcripts, such Grades/Points shall be converted into percentage of marks to assess the minimum eligibility criteria.
• The candidates have to appear in the Ph.D. Entrance Test in the subject in which they wish to pursue Ph.D. (For e.g. A candidate with M.Com. qualification may pursue Ph.D. in Business Management provided he/she appears and qualifies in the Ph.D. Entrance Test in the subject of Business Management).
• However, the following categories of the candidates are exempted from appearing in the Ph.D. Entrance test.
  1. Those who are awarded Junior Research Fellowship in a national level test namely UGC/ CSIR/ ICMR / ICAR / DBT/ INSPIRE fellowships
  2. However, if any of the above category candidates wishes to get admission in Category- II, then he/she needs to get through the O.U. Ph.D. Entrance Test – 2022.
• Note: i. The eligibility of the candidates is not being verified at the time of application and or at the time of issuing of hall tickets. Therefore, it is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that he/she is eligible for the Ph.D. programme in a subject in which he/she is applying.
• ii. The candidates those who are pursuing Post Graduate degree and whose results are not declared are NOT ELIGIBLE.

Test Pattern & the Medium of the Test:

• The Entrance examination is conducted through computer based test (CBT) mode for 70 marks consist of 70 multiple choice questions (MCQ’s).
• The Entrance Test will consist of any 3 or 4 varieties of objective type items such as analogies, classification, matching, comprehension of a research study / experiment / theoretical point of view, etc., with multiple answers besides the usual multiple choice items. The MCQs will be framed only from the syllabus of Entrance test.

Registration Fee:
The Registration fee for online submission of application form is Rs.1500/- (Rs.1000/- in case of SC/ST/BC/PWD candidates).
