Providing and Upgrading ROTs to TS Schools for broadcasting MANA TV Digital Lessons .
Providing ROTs facility to all TS Schools for MANA TV Lessons broadcast. Upgrading the existing of ROTs being functional in the schools in Upper Primary, High Schools, MRCs in all the districts and also providing ROTs to the schools not provided with ROTs earlier.

All the DEOs & Project Officers of SSA in the State are hereby informed that vide subject cited instructions have already been issued for providing ROTs facility in all the Govt. Local body, Residential Schools by 15.09.2016 without fail. In this regard it is informed that the SOFT NET (MANA TV) is upgrading existing ROTs from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 from 1st October 2016. The existing ROTs do not function with the existing configuration from lst October onwards. Therefore it is required to upgrade the existing configuration of ROTs and also provide ROTs to the Schools not provided earlier.

Following is the configuration:
A. Existing ROTs
Procure MPEG-4 compatible Set- Top box (STB’s)

B. New ROTs to schools without ROTs
1. Dish – 1.2 meters
2. Set- Top Box (STB’s)- MPEG-4 compatible
3. Universal (KU-Band) LNB

All the DEOs are directed to take this matter to the notice of the District purchase committee to fix the rate and agency for the above equipment and take immediate action to make functional existing ROTs in the schools and also provide new Set of ROT to all the High Schools which are not provided with this facility earlier. The last date to make ROT functional in all types of High schools under Govt. management i.e. Govt. ZP, Residential Schools, KGBVs, Model Schools etc. is 20.09.2016. The expenditure towards making ROT functional in all schools shell be met from school grants of RMSA available in school and also being released for the year 2016-17.

The DEOs also directed to ensure that all the Aided and un-aided private schools must equip with ROTs with new configuration as indicated above. The DEOs have to convene a meeting with the Aided/Un-aided private school managements and brief them that this would help their students and also that the ROTs are placed in their schools before 20.09.2016.

The DEOs are instructed to furnish the list of High Schools where existing ROTs are upgraded and schools provided with new ROTs. The list must reach the Director of School Education on or before 25. 09.2016 without fail. The format for furnishing information is enclosed. The DEOs may use the services of AMOs of SSA in the matter of getting status of ROTs and upgradations in the schools through CRPs/MIS Coordinators in this matter.

The DEOs and POs of SSA are requested to take immediate action on the above matter and see that all the High Schools both Govt. and Private shall posses ROTs and functional from 01.10.2016 onwards.
