TGTET In-Service Teachers Notification 2026: Government of Telangana, School Education Department has released the official notification (Rc.No.333/TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026/2026 dated 21.07.2026) for conducting the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test for In-service Teachers (TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026).

Online applications are invited exclusively from in-service teachers working in Government, Local Body, TGREIS, Government Welfare Societies Residential, Telangana Model Schools, and other Government departments. The test will be conducted online as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) across Telangana.

Online applications are invited from In-service Teachers working in Government / Local Body / TGREIS / Government Welfare Societies Residential / Telangana Model Schools / Teachers working in other Government departments ONLY for appearing at the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test for In-service Teachers (TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026) to be conducted Online as Computer Based Test (CBT) by Department of School Education, Government of Telangana between 07.09.2026 and 11.09.2026.

 In accordance with the provisions of Sub-Section (1) of Section 23 of the Right to Education Act (RTE), 2009, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) had vide its Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 has laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII. It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that she / he should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE. Accordingly, Government of Telangana has issued guidelines for conducting Teacher Eligibility Test in Telangana State vide G.Os 1st, 2nd, 3rd. 4th, and 5th cited in the reference above.

 The Government vide reference 6th cited above accorded permission to the Director of School Education to conduct two special TETs only for in-service teachers in addition to the scheduled regular 2 TETs per year.

TG-TET In-Service Teachers 2026 Overview

TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026 will be conducted in 2 papers viz: Paper-I & Paper-II. Teachers for classes I to V have to:,appear for Paper-I and teachers for classes VI to VIII have to appear for Paper-II. However, teachers of classes I to V who intend to be teachers for classes VI to VIII (subject to condition of possessing other required qualifications) have to appear for both papers i.e. Paper-I and Paper-II.

TET for in-service teachers:

i. All In-service Teachers working in Government / Local Body / TGREIS / Government Welfare Societies Residential / Telangana Model Schools / Teachers working in other Government departments ONLY are permitted to appear for TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026.

ii. Pass in TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026 shall be considered as qualified only for fulfillment of the mandatory condition of passing in TET by all teachers either for continuing in their present post of working or promotion to the next higher post from the present post of working as per the orders of the Honourable Supreme Court of India in Civil Appeal No.1385/5025 and batch of other related Civil Appeals dt.01.09.2025.

iii. Pass in TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026 CANNOT be used for appearing in any direct recruitment in future. For appearing in any direct recruitments candidates need to appear for the regular TETs to be conducted twice in a year by the State Government or CTET.

iv. Secondary Grade Teachers and LFL Head Masters working in Government and Local Body Schools appointed with both D.EI.Ed. and B.Ed. qualification are permitted to appear for Paper I.

v. School Assistants, TGTs, Language Pandits, Head Masters of High Schools are permitted to appear for Paper II.

 Date and Timings:

TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026 will be conducted Online as Computer Based Test as given below:
Dates of Exam Morning Session Timings Afternoon Session Timings Between 07.09.2026 and 11.09.2026 09.00 AM to 11.30 AM (2 Hours 30 Minutes) 2.00 PM to 4.30 PM (2 Hours 30 Minutes)
Paper-wise detailed schedule shall be notified later.

 Exam fee:
The exam fee prescribed for appearing for TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026 for General & BC candidates is Rs. 750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only) for either only Paper I or only Paper II and Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) for those appearing for both Papers I and II. For SC / ST / PwD candidates the exam fee would be Rs.700/- for one paper and Rs.950/- for two papers. Candidates can pay the exam fee through Online payment option provided at the website https://schooledu.telangana.gov.in from 22.07.2026 to 29.07.2026.

Candidates can download the ‘Information Bulletin’ free of cost from the website https://schooledu.telangana.gov.in from 22.07.2026 onwards. Candidates can submit their applications online from 22.07.2026 to 29.07.2026 at  https://tgtet.aptonline.in 

  Examination Centers (Districts) for TGTET-In-serviceTeachers-2026:
TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026 shall be conducted Online as Computer Based Test between 07.09.2026 and 11.09.2026. Candidates can submit order of preference of the examination centers (district) shown in the online application. However, Convenor, TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026 ha the discretion to allot candidates to the examination districts depending on the capacity of any particular district.

 Structure, Content, Syllabus, Initial and Final Key of TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026:
a) The structure and content of each part of Paper-1 and Paper-II of the TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026 and the breakup of the total 150 marks among various parts of the paper are given in the Information Bulletin. b) Syllabus for TGTET-In-service Teachers-2026 can be downloaded from https://schoolcdu.telangana.gov.in c) The Director of School Education and Chairperson, TGTET is the competent authority Lo publish the initial key of the question papers after the conduct of CBT inviting objections through online, if any, from the candidates who appeared for the CBT, duly giving a reasonable time to the candidates for filing objections on the initial key and the same shall be disposed of by the expert committee constituted by the Director of School Education and Chairperson, TGTET. The final key shall be published for the information of candidates. Any representation / petition / objection on the key after the above stipulated period shall not be entertained.

 Pass Criteria in TGTET 
The criteria for considering pass in TGTET is as follows:
Community Pass Marks i) General / EWS 60% and above ii) BC 50% and above iii) SC/ ST/ Differently abled 40% and above The rules issued from time to time by the Department of Disabled Welfare shall be followed in respect of for differently abled (Physically challenged) persons.

Eligibility Criteria & Paper Details

 ONLY In-service Teachers working in Government / Local Body / TGREIS / Government Welfare Societies Residential / Telangana Model Schools / other Government departments.

Paper-I: For teachers teaching classes I to V (Secondary Grade Teachers, LFL Head Masters with D.El.Ed & B.Ed).

Paper-II: For teachers teaching classes VI to VIII (School Assistants, TGTs, Language Pandits, Head Masters of High Schools).
